Aviation: Nanyue Airport serves 31 direct flight destinations, ranking as Hunan's third-largest airport and a key regional air hub in central-south China. Railways: Operational rail lines span 610 km across six routes – Beijing-Guangzhou, Hunan-Guangxi, Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed, Hunan-Guangxi Double-Track, Hengyang-Chaling-Ji'an, and Huaihua-Shaoyang-Hengyang – giving the city the longest operational rail mileage in Hunan. Its backbone network follows an "8-5-18" framework: 8 expressways, 5 national highways, and 18 provincial highways. Waterways: Five navigable rivers (Xiangjiang, Leishui, Zhengshui, Chongling, Mishui) provide 769 km of navigable length (7th provincially), including 154 km meeting Class II navigation standards (2nd provincially). Station Yard: The transportation infrastructure comprises 117 bus terminals and 2,531 rural pickup stations, ensuring every county has at least one Class II terminal and 100% administrative village coverage by scheduled bus services.
