"Hengyang 1944" Project Completed, Set to Open in April

After 510 million yuan investment and 15 months of intense construction, the "City of Time · Hengyang 1944" project in Nanyue District was officially completed on January 15 with a lighting ceremony. And it is expected to open in April.

Liu Lang, Secretary of Nanyue District Committee, Jiang Bingyan, Deputy Secretary of the District Committee and District Governor, Chen Zongbing, Chairman of Legendary Culture Group, Gong Shuguang, former Chairman of Hunan Publishing Investment Holding Group and famous writer, Xu Feiyan, Chinese Master Artisan and President of Jingdezhen Ceramic Art Institute, and famous musician Hu Tingyang jointly unveiled the landmark of the "City of Time · Hengyang 1944" project.

In recent years, Nanyue District has adhered to the principle of "integrating culture into tourism and showcasing culture through tourism." Aligned with the strategic blueprint of "Building the City through Manufacturing, Revitalizing the City through Culture and Tourism," the district has launched intensive campaigns to advance key projects. While consolidating its strengths in traditional cultural tourism, it is rolling out a series of flagship cultural and tourism initiatives. These efforts aim to diversify tourism offerings and expand product supply.

As one of Nanyue District’s key cultural and tourism projects in recent years, "City of Time·Hengyang 1944" meticulously recreates the urban landscape of old Hengyang. It will employ mobile performances and immersive interactive experiences to transport visitors into the history and culture of the city. In addition, It also integrates high-end hotels, characteristic homestays, theme cinemas, internet famous bookstores, old tea houses, intangible cultural heritage skills, study and education, travel photography and other cultural and tourism industries.

As a key promotion project in Hengyang City and Nanyue District, and a major initiative under Hunan Province's Cultural Powerhouse Strategy, the 1944 cultural and tourism project has important significance for advancing Nanyue’s tourism industry transformation and extending its tourism value chain. The completion of the project not only helps to enhance the tourism brand image of Nanyue, but also optimizes the tourism product portfolio of Nanyue, injecting fresh momentum into the development of Nanyue's tourism economy.

It is reported that the project will officially open to the public in April this year.
