Hengyang News Network News: Reporter Cheng Cong, Correspondent Tan Qian reported that on October 24, 2022, Mr. Bao, a citizen of Shanshan County, Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, experienced a "life and death test".

"On May 7, 2022, Mr. Bao and his father, carrying a banner, continuously thanked the doctors from Hengyang for rescuing my son from the brink of death . Thank you for your help!".

More than half a year ago, this young man suddenly fell ill and his heart repeatedly stopped beating within 71 minutes. Doctors from Hunan and Xinjiang spared no effort in rescuing him from the brink of death. If it had happened before the year 2020, the patients would have to be transferred to Urumqi which is more than 300 kilometers away for emergency treatment, the outcome would have been very uncertain.

In March 2020, a "group style" medical aid team consisting of 12 medical experts from the ninth batch of Hengyang's aid to Xinjiang came to Shanshan County, Turpan. The team involved specialties such as cardiovascular intervention, oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, hand microsurgery, radiology, laboratory medicine, gynecology, gastroenterology, neonatology, otorhinolaryngology, traditional Chinese medicine, etc. It made up for the shortcomings of Shanshan County People's Hospital, Shanshan County Maternal and Child Health Hospital. They have ensured uninterrupted talent cultivation and disciplinary construction through continuous medical talent relay assistance, creating a high-level medical team for Shanshan and enabling local residents to receive high-quality medical services at their doorstep.

On April 23, 2022, 8 Hengyang aid doctors and colleagues from Shanshan County People's Hospital visited the Lukeqin Town Health Center and Sailkefu Village for free consultations during the weekend. 

"The expert has arrived at the doorstep!" Local residents cheered when they saw the expert team coming to provide free medical treatment in the village clinic.

Shanshan County has a vast territory and sparse population. In order to further solve the problem of difficult and expensive medical treatment for the local people, Hengyang Medical Aid Xinjiang team members have extended their "group style" support to the grassroots level. The Aiding Xinjiang experts use their spare time to travel to various towns and villages to train medical personnel and carry out free clinics to assist in poverty.

"The construction of grassroots health centers directly concerns the convenience of medical treatment for the people." Jiang Changfu, a member of the Hunan Provincial Front Command for Aid to Xinjiang and Deputy Secretary of Shanshan County Committee, introduced that since entering Xinjiang, the aid work team has built four township health centers, including Lukeqin Town and Dongbazha Township, significantly improving the medical conditions of the masses and the infrastructure of township medical and health facilities.

 There are not many patients hospitalized in the town health center as patients are more willing to go to Shanshan County People's Hospital or even Urumqi for treatment. Now that the conditions are good, Aili is full of expectations for the new Bizhan Town Health Center.

 At the same time, the ninth batch of Hengyang's aid to Xinjiang work team organized free consultations with health poverty alleviation screening experts through activities such as "regularly rotating medical team members to the grassroots", and received more than 3000 people in need.
