Hengyang City is conducting a campaign to promote knowledge about the hygiene of drinking water
From:衡阳市政府门户网站 | Date Add in:2024-05-18 23:18:34 [A  A]

From May 13th to 19th, which marks the 13th National Drinking Water Hygiene Promotion Week in China, various initiatives are being undertaken to extensively publicize knowledge about the hygiene of drinking water. On May 16th, the Municipal Health Commission organized the Municipal Health and Family Planning Comprehensive Supervision and Law Enforcement Bureau, the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Zhuhui District Health and Family Planning Comprehensive Supervision and Law Enforcement Bureau, the Municipal Water Affairs Group, and communities such as Guangmingli, Fuhuali, and Miaonulu Road in the Zhuhui District to conduct activities promoting knowledge about the hygiene of drinking water at the Railway Cultural Square.

On that morning, the information-rich display boards at the Railway Cultural Square attracted many local residents to stop and observe. Staff members distributed brochures such as "Questions and Answers on the Hygiene of Drinking Water" to passersby. Through interactive question-and-answer sessions and other methods, the staff members promoted knowledge about the hygiene of drinking water and relevant laws and regulations to the public. They emphasized the importance of safe drinking water and water conservation, guided citizens to dispel misconceptions about drinking water, and encouraged them to adopt scientific drinking water concepts. Personnel from the Disease Control and Prevention Center conducted on-site sampling and testing of drinking water at the Guangmingli Primary School cafeteria and a restaurant near the main gate of Hengyang Normal University's new campus. The test results showed that the drinking water met the national hygiene standards.

The hygiene of drinking water directly affects the health and safety of the people. In recent years, the Municipal Health and Family Planning Comprehensive Supervision and Law Enforcement Bureau has always prioritized the safety of drinking water. They have actively conducted publicity campaigns on drinking water hygiene, strengthened supervision and law enforcement of drinking water hygiene, and cooperated with the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct quarterly monitoring and testing of water from factories and terminal points of the pipeline network, with the results being publicly disclosed on government websites. This ensures that the people can drink safe and trustworthy water.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Health and Family Planning Comprehensive Supervision and Law Enforcement Bureau stated that the purpose of this campaign during the National Drinking Water Hygiene Promotion Week is to guide the public to scientifically understand and properly address issues related to the hygiene and safety of drinking water, emphasizing the importance of water hygiene and cultivating good habits of drinking water hygiene among the citizens.
