On May 11th, in celebration of the 113th International Nurses Day, the conference was held in Hengyang City. Deputy Mayor Xie Hong attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The conference commended the winners of the "Hengyang City's First Nursing Service Improvement Case Golden Idea Innovation Competition" and the "Hengyang City's First 'Excellent Nurses in Hengyang' Theme Essay Competition", as well as individuals and teams awarded as "The Most Beautiful Head Nurse in Hengyang City," "The Most Beautiful Nurse in Hengyang City," "The Most Beautiful Grassroots Nurse in Hengyang City," and "Excellent Nursing Team in Hengyang City." Over the past year, Hengyang City's nursing industry has achieved significant results, with the total number and service capacity of nursing teams continuously improving. Nursing services cover medical institutions, communities, homes, and the entire population, with comprehensive implementation of electronic registration management for nurses. Medical institutions are gradually establishing nursing position management systems, implementing nursing manpower allocation, training, and assessment based on nursing positions. As of the end of April 2024, there were 30,000 registered nurses in the city, and the training rate for newly recruited nurses in tertiary public medical institutions reached 100%, as did the training rate for nursing management personnel in secondary and above public medical institutions. More than 60 nurses in 21 provincial specialties such as critical care, emergency, respiratory, geriatric, and rehabilitation were trained through the provincial specialized nurse quality control center. Xie Hong pointed out that nurses across the city should continue to vigorously promote the spirit of Florence Nightingale, take safeguarding people's health and life safety as their highest mission, adhere to respecting life, and uphold medical ethics. They should implement the "patient-centered" service concept throughout the nursing service process, refine service skills, solidify basic nursing, strengthen high-quality nursing, and make greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of health care and improving the health level of the people.
