Diet Nutrition Advice on the Prevention of COVID-19

For coronavirus prevention, it’s really important to strengthen the immune system. How to improve immunity through diet when coronavirus outbreak is raging? Here we’ve carefully selected some diet nutrition advice on the prevention of COVID-19. Continue reading and take precautions from now on.

 


1.Take High Protein Foods Daily.

Take high protein foods daily, including fish, meat, eggs, milk, beans and nuts. Increase the quantity of high protein foods daily on a daily basis than before. Eat less fatty, smoked and cured meat products. For your health, do not eat wild animals.

 

2.Eat more Fresh Vegetables and Fruits.

Make sure you eat more fresh vegetables and fruits than usual. It’s better for your health to have many varieties of vegetables and fruits. Vegetable intake is no less than 300-500g, and Fruit intake is not less than 200-350g.


When traveling, you can buy some fruits in the supermarkets. It’s better to eat two or three kinds of fruits each day.


3.Drink Plenty of Water.

Drink plenty of water each day, not less than 1500ml per day. You can drink water regularly from morning to night, 5-6 glasses of water will be good. It’s good for your metabolism. When you’re traveling in China, lots of walking will be involved, you need to take some bottled water in your bag to stay hydrated, especially during summer.


4.Eat a Variety of Foods Daily.

Eat a variety of foods daily. Research shows that eating a variety of foods is the best way to get all the nutrients we need. Besides, the color of foods is also important. It’s better to eat no less than 20 kinds of foods per day.

 

Additionally, don’t be partial eclipse, have a balance portion of vegetables and meat. Different types of food provide us with different nutrients. It is recommended to enrich the types of eggs, meat, vegetables and fruits in the diet to ensure the intake of a variety of proteins, minerals and vitamins.

 

5.Ensure Adequate Nutrition.

Eat regularly and eat well to ensure adequate nutrition, which can provide a continuous stream of "raw materials" for our immune system. Do remember to eat breakfast, because breakfast is the most important meal for the day. According to the research, the first meal you have appears to program your metabolism for the rest of the day.


6.Add some Nutritional Supplements Moderately.

During the epidemic of COVID-19, it is recommended to take some nutritional supplements, such as compound vitamins, minerals and deep-sea fish oil. Those nutritional supplements have certain effects on improving nutritional deficiencies and boosting immunity. But be aware that vitamins and other nutritional supplements cannot prevent coronavirus. Please follow the professional medical advice from your doctor.

 

7.Don’t Lose Weight.

When the coronavirus is raging, you’d better not go on a diet or lose weight. Excessive dieting is likely to affect immune function and reduce the body's resistance. Dieting is not recommended during this period of time.


8.Get Enough Sleep.

Ensure that your sleep time is not less than 7 hours a day. Only a good rest can ensure energy and recovery, which can help improve immunity. Don’t go to bed too late. During your trip in China, it’s also important to have adequate sleep, so that you have energy for the next day, or else you will be exhausted.

 

9.Do some Exercises.

Do some exercises regularly, one hour per day will be great. Exercise well at home even if you don’t go out. You’d better not exercise in groups during this period of time.
