If you child travels alone without accompanying adult, do not worry, there is unaccompanied minor service in China’s airlines.

As different airlines may have slice differences of the service police among each other, here we took Air China’s policy for an example. If you want to book for you child, you’d better check with the airline you choose in advance.

Age limited

The unaccompanied minor service is for child between the ages of 5 years old to 12 years old that traveling without an accompanying adult. Or, if desired, the service is also for the teenager travelers at the age between 12 years old to 18 years old.  

General Regulations of Unaccompanied Minors Service 

Please request the service in advance from the Air China, otherwise Air China will not be able to take the responsibility for the child during the journey. 

You need to apply for the unaccompanied minor service at the local business department of Air China at least 24 hours in advance of the departure time. So, here we suggest you apply as early as you can.

For apply the unaccompanied minor service of your child, a parent or guardian should show ID card and valid documents for traveling to the local department.

The address and contact information of the person who will pick up the child is also required by the airline.  

Price for the Unaccompanied Minors Service

The price of Unaccompanied Minors Service for domestic and international flights of Air China is 260 RMB OR 30 USD for a single-way trip.

The Air China ensures that your child will be taken care of for the whole journey on plane. It any irregularities happened to the flight, Air China will appoint some to take care of the transportation and accommodation for the child.
