"On April 11th, it was a landmark day for Nanyue Yunwu Tea. 22 tons of tea produced in Hengyang were packaged and sent into containers, then transported to Russia via the China-Europe Railway Express. This marks the first export of Nanyue Yunwu Tea to Russia. Over the years, Hengyang has focused on building the regional public brand of Nanyue Yunwu Tea and steadily improving the quality of Hengyang tea products by promoting the construction of ecological tea gardens. The tea garden area has increased from 117,200 mu (about 7,813 hectares) five years ago to the current 176,700 mu (11,780 hectares), including 120,000 mu (8,000 hectares) certified as organic tea gardens and green food. Nanyue Yunwu Tea is known for its "green color, high fragrance, refreshing taste, and beautiful shape," and has been repeatedly rated as a superior product at both the national and provincial levels.

The brand influence of Nanyue Yunwu Tea is increasingly prominent and is vigorously striving towards the development goal of “going out of Hengyang, Hunan and China”. In December of last year, as the first in Hengyang, Baogai Lvkang Ecological Agriculture Technology Development Co., Ltd. successfully obtained the approval as a "tea export base." Hunan Hengcha Import and Export Trade Company is a marketing enterprise dedicated to promoting and selling Nanyue Yunwu Tea, not only deeply cultivating the domestic market but also actively expanding overseas business. This winter and spring, the general manager of the company, Shen Wenjie, led delegations to Moscow twice and participated in the Moscow Food Exhibition, where cooperation intentions were reached with Russian customers. After the exhibition, they visited more than 30 customers and collected nearly a hundred tea samples. After returning to China, they quickly communicated with Baogai Lvkang Company in Hengyang and produced samples based on customers’. Eventually, they won the recognition of customers and signed the first batch of sales contracts worth 2.8 million yuan.

At the unveiling ceremony of the first export base of Nanyue Yunwu Tea and the first launch of Hengcha Tea Going Overseas today, Wang Sulong, director of the Hengyang Agriculture and Rural Bureau, told reporters that the first shipment of containers of Nanyue Yunwu Tea to Russia marks the recognition of Hengyang tea by consumers at home and abroad and represents a new chapter in the marketing of Hengyang tea. This will undoubtedly promote the innovative development of Hengyang's tea industry, increase income for tea-producing areas, and help revitalize our rural areas. He hopes that Hengyang tea enterprises will work together, integrate high-quality resources, and gather strengths from all parties to build Hengyang into a major processing base for tea exports in southern Hunan and a well-known export distribution center for tea both inside and outside the province. Wu Chongyue, President of the Hunan Red Tea Industry Development Promotion Association, and Li Huixing, former leader of Hengyang City, attended the unveiling and first launch ceremony. It is reported that the second batch of 20 tons of Nanyue Yunwu Tea will depart for Russia in June this year.
