On the afternoon of April 18th, Liu Yuegao, the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, held talks and consultations with Liu Qun, the Secretary of the Provincial Ecological Environment Department Party Group, and Director of the Department. The discussions revolved around ecological environment work, focusing on efforts to combat pollution, strengthen environmental infrastructure construction, and safeguard ecological security. The aim was to promote the continuous improvement of Hengyang's ecological environment quality and contribute more to the construction of a beautiful New Hunan. Zhu Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, attended the meeting.

Liu Yuegao expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Ecological Environment Department for its strong support to Hengyang over the years. He stated that Hengyang City deeply implements Xi Jinping's ecological civilization ideology, earnestly implements the decisions and deployments  regarding ecological civilization construction of the Party Central Committee, the State Council, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Government. The city consistently regards ecological environment protection as a major task for economic and social development. It adheres to the principle of shared responsibilities between the Party and the government, consistent deployment, multi-party cooperation, and coordinated action. Xi Jinping's ecological civilization ideology has become deeply rooted in people's hearts, and development and protection are effectively integrated and mutually reinforcing. The battle for pollution prevention and control continues to deepen, and hidden risks in the ecological environment are effectively prevented and resolved. In the next stage, Hengyang City will further firmly establish and implement the concept that green waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. It will take the opportunity of equipment renewal and old-for-new exchanges to accelerate the green transformation of development methods, continue to fight the tough battle against pollution, strengthen environmental infrastructure construction, resolutely rectify prominent ecological environmental issues, and strive to make substantial progress and achieve landmark results in the construction of beautiful Hengyang, supporting high-quality development with high-level protection.

Liu Qun highly affirmed the achievements of Hengyang City in ecological and environmental protection work. He stated that the Hengyang Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government attach great importance to ecological and environmental protection and have carried out a large number of effective work, providing valuable experience and practices for the province. Liu Qun pointed out the prominent ecological environmental issues that Hengyang needs to solve at the current stage and provided suggestions. He hopes that Hengyang City will continue to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's ecological civilization ideology, further shoulder the political responsibility for ecological environment protection, and firmly adhere to the bottom line of ecological environment security.
