On the morning of April 18th, Zheng Shengang, the Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Changsha Railway Office of Guangzhou Railway Group, along with his team, visited Hengyang to research and discuss the development plan of high-speed railways, comprehensive railway support mechanisms, railway line rectification, and additional trains for the Third Hunan Tourism Conference. Zhu Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, attended the research and presided over the discussion.

Zheng Shengang and his team visited Hengyang Railway Museum, Hengyang Railway Station, Ouyanghai Highway Bridge, and Hengshanxi Station to conduct surveys and research. They held in-depth exchanges on ensuring passenger transport during the Third Hunan Tourism Conference, preliminary studies on high-speed rail planning, quality improvement of passenger facilities at Hengyang Station, railway line rectification, and rectification of external hidden dangers.

Zheng Shengang stated that Hengyang is one of the earliest-formed railway hubs in southern China, once overseeing seven provinces and nurturing a large number of railway talents, earning it the title of "Yan'an" in railway history. Hengyang and Guangzhou Railway Group have a deep emotional bond and a solid foundation for cooperation. Guangzhou Railway Group will spare no effort to ensure the successful hosting of the Third Hunan Tourism Conference and serve as the "locomotive" supporting local economic development, making it more convenient for passengers from all over to travel to and from Hengyang. He hoped that both sides would further deepen cooperation, actively expand new channels for quick access to the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta, and make Hengyang Station a bright business card for open cooperation. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to strengthen coordination and cooperation, promote the overall linkage between the Railway Museum and the cultural and creative blocks of Baowei Alley, promote the integration, coexistence, interaction, and development of railway culture and Hengyang urban culture, comprehensively manage safety hazards along the railway line and outside roads, and strive to build a harmonious and symbiotic new situation between the railway and the surrounding living environment, natural landscapes, urban and rural features.

Zhu Jian expressed his gratitude to Guangzhou Railway Group for its long-term strong support for Hengyang's railway-related work and projects and looked forward to opening a new chapter of cooperation in the new era. Additionally, he emphasized the need to continue coordinating efforts to comprehensively rectify the railway line to ensure safety, implement and refine the comprehensive support mechanism for Hengyangdong High-Speed Rail Station, and continuously improve and strengthen the high-speed rail hub.
