The Jiuguan Lake in Hengyang is as smooth as a mirror, with picturesque scenery of lakes and mountains, making it a famous tourist attraction and a preferred destination for leisure vacation.

This year, leveraging the momentum of the Third Hunan Tourism Development Conference, Hengshan County is once again making efforts to create a lakeside road around Jiuguan Lake, designating the Jiuguan Lake Lakeside Road Project as a key project for the entire county in 2024.

It is reported that the Lakeside Road is 18.765 kilometers long. Currently, the entire roadbed construction has been completed, and the next step is to carry out pavement construction, as well as improve signage, surrounding greenery, rest stops, public toilets, and other related supporting facilities. Once completed, the project will add a high-standard cycling track to Hengyang. Along the way, cyclists can not only enjoy the beautiful lake scenery but also admire magnificent sights such as waterfalls, lush forests, and colorful flowers, making it highly anticipated.

In recent years, Jiuguan Village in Dianmen Town, Hengshan County, has implemented various measures and coordinated the integrated development of culture and tourism throughout the village. The Jiuguan Lake Scenic Area, Jiulong Gorge Drifting, and Yiqu Garden Villa Leisure projects have formed a good complementary and coordinated development trend. By improving catering, accommodation, and leisure tourism service facilities, efforts have been made to cultivate new tourism consumption points and integrate the upstream and downstream industries of the cultural and tourism industry, resulting in a double harvest for the village collective economy and the average annual income of villagers.

Relying on its rich tourism resources, Hengshan County has accelerated the integration of rural tourism, urban tourism and cultural tourism. In September 2023, adhering to the concept of "green, cultural and harmonious" events, Hengshan County created the "China · Hengshan" Jiuguan Lake Lakeside Cycling Race in Jiuguan Village. It attracted more than 500 athletes from all over the country to challenge themselves on a 35-kilometer ecological track.
