On the morning of June 2nd, the "Manufacturing Prospers the City, I Contribute; Cultural Tourism Flourishes, I Strive" Second Workers' Dragon Boat Race in Hengyang City was held in the Xiangjiang River's Hejiangtao water area. Liu Yuegao, the secretary of the municipal Party committee, announced the start of the race. Liu Zaiheng, a member of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions Party Committee and vice chairman, attended the event and jointly presented awards to the winning teams.

On that day, Hengyang citizens eagerly gathered near the race venue. Both sides of the Xiangjiang River's Hejiangtao water area were packed with people, presenting a magnificent scene.

At 9:08 am, as Liu Yuegao announced the start of the competition, the referee fired the starting gun, and the river suddenly echoed with the thunderous sound of drums. The competitors were spirited and coordinated, with each dragon boat swiftly gliding across the water like arrows leaving a bow. Spectators on both sides cheered for the competing teams, immersing themselves in the unique charm of the dragon boat race.

The competition consisted of 6 tracks, with a total of 18 dragon boat teams participating in three rounds of heats. Points were awarded based on the ranking of each round's results. After intense competition, the Yulin Xiongfeng Dragon Boat Team from Hengyang County won the championship, followed by the Huaxiang Dragon Boat Team from Hengdong County in second place, and the Wenhua'ao Dragon Boat Team from Hengshan County in third place.

During breaks in the competition, the event featured folk cultural performances unique to Hengyang, including dragon boat tunes, Yuebei folk songs, and Leiyang Tandiaolugu drum performances.
