On the morning of August 3, the 2024 Hengyang Air Volleyball Club Tournament officially kicked off at the Fitness Service Center Gymnasium. Deputy Mayor Xie Hong announced the start of the competition, and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, Ye Yuquan, attended the event.

On the court, the air volleyball traced beautiful arcs in the air, with players working in perfect harmony, jumping, spiking, and defending. The audience frequently erupted in applause and cheers.

According to reports, the competition features five-a-side mixed-gender air volleyball matches, with participants divided into three age groups: Group A, Group B, and Group C, each consisting of 16 teams. The tournament format includes a round-robin stage followed by a knockout stage based on rankings from the initial matches. The top three teams from each group will receive awards.

"The purpose of this event is to promote exchanges and integration among clubs across the province and to enhance public health. Additionally, it aims to create a strong sports atmosphere for the Third Hunan Tourism Development Conference," said the main organizer of the event.

The competition is hosted by the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television, and Sports and the Municipal Sports Federation and organized by the City Air Volleyball Association. It has attracted 48 air volleyball teams from 12 cities and prefectures across the province, with nearly 500 participants.
