On the morning of August 3, Liu Yuegao, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, visited Nanyue District to investigate post-disaster reconstruction and recovery work. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on flood control and disaster relief, uphold the principles of prioritizing people and life, and make every effort to advance post-disaster recovery and reconstruction. He called for comprehensive risk elimination to prevent secondary disasters and to expedite the restoration of normal production and life.

In the Banshanting area of the central scenic zone of Mount Heng, Liu Yuegao climbed the mountain paths to inspect the damage to the scenic facilities and to understand the progress of the repair work. He stressed the importance of conducting further scientific evaluations, improving the repair plans, and accelerating the restoration of facilities to ensure absolute safety in the scenic area.

Liu Yuegao also visited the homes of the affected residents nearby, offering comfort and engaging in discussions to learn about their disaster impact and current living conditions. He urged Nanyue District and relevant departments to provide heartfelt assistance to the residents in post-disaster reconstruction, adopt suitable governance measures, actively coordinate insurance claims, and minimize losses to ensure the swift restoration of normal production and life.

Certain sections of the central scenic zone of Mount Heng suffered damage from the disaster and are currently undergoing hazard removal and reinforcement. Liu Yuegao visited the construction site to learn about the road damage and repair work. He instructed the construction workers to enhance safety measures, strengthen risk control, and accelerate the restoration of roads, communication, and power facilities, preventing secondary disaster incidents and ensuring that post-disaster recovery work proceeds safely and orderly.

At the Lingzhi Spring Spot in Magu Wonderland, Liu Yuegao inspected the damage. He requested that relevant departments quickly formulate a scientific repair plan to restore the scenic spot to its original state as soon as possible and to further improve the spot's ability to cope with natural disasters. He called for a comprehensive risk investigation and rectification of the entire scenic area to ensure safety and promote the rapid reopening of the scenic spot.
