Xiangjian·Jianxiang Industrial Culture Block Welcomes First Student Research Group of the Year
From:衡阳新闻网 | Date Add in:2025-04-16 10:08:57 [A  A]

On April 15, the Xiangjian·Jianxiang Industrial Culture Block welcomed its first primary school research group of 2025. Over 400 students from Zhenghxiang Experimental Primary School stepped into this national-level industrial research and practice education base, which was transformed from an old factory, to immerse themselves in industrial culture and hands-on courses, experiencing the glorious history and innovative vitality of the industrial development of Hengyang.

Guided by docents, the students first visited the China·Hengyang Old Industrial Base Exhibition Hall. Through three themed sections—"Glimpses of Industry," "Pillars of a Strong Nation," and "Soaring Wild Goose"—the hall systematically showcases the global history of industry, the development of China’s old industrial bases, and Hengyang’s unique contributions to the development of the industry in China. Precious industrial relics, such as 429 historical seals from the Jianxiang Diesel Engine Factory and a complete diesel engine production line, allowed the children to vividly appreciate the craftsmanship behind "Made in Hengyang."

In the 3D naked-eye giant screen theater, the production scenes of the Jianxiang Diesel Engine Factory from the last century and the evolution of Hengyang’s industry were recreated. The students exclaimed excitedly, "So the 'industrial spirit' we learn about in textbooks is hidden in these machines!"

The highlight of the research trip was the hands-on industrial-themed workshops, where students participated in clay sculpting, fun electricity experiments, cast-iron pot forging, and holographic projection experiences. In the science and technology classroom, they learned basic electrical principles by simulating the disassembly and assembly of generators. In the casting workshop, they experienced the precision and joy of traditional industrial craftsmanship while making iron pots.

As a national-level industrial culture research and practice education base, the Xiangjian·Jianxiang Block has hosted over 9,000 young learners since its opening in September 2024. Zou Kaili, General Manager of Jianxiang Cultural Tourism, explained, "Through the 'industrial heritage and cultural creativity' model, we transform historical memories into dynamic educational resources, providing a hands-on platform for youth nationwide to connect with history and inspire the future."
