On April 15, the Hengnan County 2025 Rice Yield Improvement and Mechanized Transplanting Demonstration was held in Chashi Town, attracting numerous agricultural professionals and government representatives. The event marked the official start of the county’s 2025 rice transplanting season. Centered on technological innovation, the demonstration showcased intelligent rice transplanting and broadcasting machines, along with drone-assisted fertilization, injecting new momentum into efforts to boost rice yields and farmers’ incomes. Under the morning sun, the demonstration site buzzed with activity. Smart rice transplanters and broadcasters worked efficiently across the fields, planting seedlings with precision and uniformity, creating a striking sight. Meanwhile, drones crisscrossed the sky, applying fertilizer with remarkable speed and accuracy, drawing admiration from onlookers. These advanced technologies not only enhance transplanting and fertilizing efficiency but also ensure optimal nutrient distribution, laying a solid foundation for high yields. Luo Wen, a representative of Shiyuan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., stated, “As agricultural practitioners, we recognize the vital role of technology in farming. By adopting these advanced machines and techniques, we aim to set an example and encourage local farmers to modernize their practices. This year, our company has mechanized transplanting across 1,500 mu of rice fields, with yields expected to rise by about 20% compared to traditional methods.” Luo added that the company will continue exploring modern agricultural models, introducing new technologies, and sharing successful practices to benefit the broader farming community. The demonstration aimed to promote cutting-edge agricultural techniques, helping farmers understand the benefits of mechanized transplanting for yield improvement. Moving forward, Chashi Town will expand smart farming practices across the region, dispatching technicians to provide hands-on guidance and ensure successful adoption. These efforts will elevate local rice production, boosting both output and farmers’ incomes. Attendees also visited Shiyuan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., where they observed an automated high-speed seedling production line. Using advanced technology, the line automates the entire process—from seed treatment to sowing and soil covering—significantly shortening cultivation time while improving seedling quality. In 2025, Hengnan County remains committed to ensuring food security by leveraging technology, promoting high-quality seeds, machinery, and methods, and incentivizing farmers. The county plans to cultivate 1.38 million mu of grain, including 450,000 mu of early-season rice, 480,000 mu of late-season rice, 280,000 mu of single-crop (ratoon) rice, and 170,000 mu of dryland crops.
