Hengyang Wins 3 Golds, 3 Silvers, and 2 Bronzes at Second Hunan Vocational Skills Competition |

The second Hunan Provincial Vocational Skills Competition concluded successfully on the evening of April 18 in Zhuzhou. Competitors from the Hengyang delegation stood out in fierce competition against top skilled talents from across the province, securing 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 2 bronze medals, and 44 excellence awards. Hengyang ranked among the top three in terms of gold medal count and also received the Outstanding Team Award. Hosted by the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and co-organized by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, and the Zhuzhou Municipal Government, the competition is the largest and most prestigious vocational skills event in the province. Over three days, 1,187 participants from 21 delegations representing 14 cities and 7 industry departments competed in 46 events.
Hengyang sent a total of 92 contestants (including teams) to compete in 45 events. After intense rounds, three contestants from Hengyang Technician College—Sheng Zhengui (Information Network Cabling), Zuo Yingjun (Electrical Installations), and Lu Yiming (Web Technologies)—won gold medals. Teammates Li Quan, Liu Qi, and Tan Yulin captured silver medals in Electrical Installations, Optoelectronic Technology, and Chinese Restaurant Service, respectively. Wan Zhenxing and Wang Tengfei earned bronze medals in Additive Manufacturing and Web Technologies.
An additional 46 contestants (including team entries) from Hengyang Technician College, Xiangnan Chuanshan Advanced Technical School, Hengyang Hualing Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., and Hengyang Northern Optoelectronic Information Technology Co., Ltd. received excellence awards in their respective fields.
According to a representative from the Hengyang Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, participating in the competition showcased the outstanding spirit and technical excellence of Hengyang’s skilled workforce, set a benchmark for vocational education in the city, and helped identify top candidates for the upcoming Third National Vocational Skills Competition.
