Snapshots from the First-Quarter Major Project Inspection in Hengyang
From:衡阳市政府门户网站 | Date Add in:2025-04-29 12:35:34 [A  A]

On April 27, Hengyang held its 2025 Q1 Economic Situation Analysis and Major Project Inspection Meeting. Participants visited Hengyang High-Tech Zone, Shigu District, and Hengnan County, where eight major projects with a total investment of approximately 6.6 billion yuan were showcased, highlighting the pulse of industrial upgrading and the vigorous momentum of the “Manufacturing-Driven City and Culture-Tourism Prosperity” development strategy.

At the Bottech Computing Power Power Supply Manufacturing Base, newly installed SMT production lines gleamed under the bright factory lights. Once operational in May, the production line is expected to achieve an annual output value of 100 million yuan.

At the Heli Forklift Intelligent Manufacturing Southern Base, a sprawling 369-mu (about 246,000 m2) park houses workshops for parts processing, assembly testing, finished goods storage, R&D, and wastewater treatment, presenting a grand vision of green intelligent manufacturing.

At the Meiyijia Xiangnan Industrial Park, cranes worked busily as the structures of the ambient sorting center and cold storage warehouses took shape.

In the Hengyang Intelligent Weighing Instrument Industrial Park, completed talent apartments and newly built factory workshops are bustling with enterprise equipment installation. So far, 14 companies have signed agreements, with five already operational, paving the way for a future 10-billion-yuan industrial cluster.

Meanwhile, at the Hunan Expressway Hengyang Logistics Port, construction is progressing rapidly on six warehouses for the second phase, projected to create 2,000 jobs. In the Tebian Special High Voltage GIS Intelligent Factory, the rumble of equipment testing in the 1100kV experimental hall was palpable; dryers roared at the Guiquan Grain Storage and Logistics Project; and Phase I of the Gangli Refrigeration Parts Project was operating at full capacity.

Each project site vividly demonstrated the vitality of Hengyang’s economy. In Q1, Hengyang’s industrial output above designated size grew by 7.3%, with manufacturing contributing 99.2% of the increase. Among 37 major industrial categories, 27 achieved positive growth. Output of specialized mining equipment rose by 26.8%, and transformer production increased by 12%. Enterprises’ revenue and profit margins improved by 12.8 and 11.4 percentage points, respectively.

These achievements reflect Hengyang’s unwavering determination to implement its “Manufacturing-Driven City” strategy and the fruitful outcomes of key project deployments.

During the inspection, participants actively engaged in discussions and project inquiries. “These projects are rich in technology and market potential—they are bound to succeed!” one participant remarked. Another said, “Through comparison, we’ve found our gaps; through learning, we’ve sharpened our development ideas. We are now more confident about achieving our annual goals.”

This springtime “project examination” not only tested the city’s project construction outcomes but also served as a catalyst for collective reflection and mobilization. Across Hengyang, a strong consensus has been formed: to seize opportunities with determination, roll up sleeves, and work diligently and skillfully to shoulder the responsibilities of a major economic city.
