Hengyang News Network – Reported by Shao Junjie, Correspondent Wen Lan – As the "May Day" holiday approaches, the Mount Hengshan scenic area in Nanyue is rolling out a series of tourist-friendly measures to enhance visitors' experiences, focusing on optimized organization and services. The streets are clean and orderly, while the natural wonders of the mountain captivate guests—the majestic sea of clouds at Zhurong Peak, the radiant sunrise at Wangri Terrace, the vibrant azaleas at Tianzhu Peak, and the serene tranquility of the Tibetan Scripture Hall. In the ancient-style "Nanyue Li" district, thousands of peonies bloom in competition, transporting tourists back to the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty. Meanwhile, the Republic of China-themed "Time City · 1944" block echoes with the rich melodies of symphonic music, enticing visitors to follow the performances with their phones in hand. The modern Zhurong Fire Exploration Space Experience Museum showcases dozens of extraterrestrial treasures, such as lunar and Martian meteorites, igniting young people’s dreams of space exploration. Beyond sightseeing and entertainment, the scenic area is distributing millions of yuan in cultural tourism vouchers. Partnering with 202 platform merchants and venues like "Nanyue Li," the Zhurong Fire Exploration Space Museum, and "Time City · Hengyang 1944," it offers limited-time activities such as prize draws, flash sales, and exclusive deals covering dining, accommodation, transportation, shopping, and entertainment. Additionally, during the holiday, provincial-level and above model workers, advanced workers, and recipients of national or provincial "May Day Labor Medals" can enter all scenic spots for free upon presenting their ID and relevant certificates, with complimentary access to shuttle buses. All Nanyue district officials and staff are stationed at key locations, serving as "tour guides," "traffic police," "volunteers," and "forest rangers." Police officers and traffic police have forgone their holidays to ensure safety. The scenic area employs video surveillance, drones, and patrols for "smart tourism protection," while multiple departments conduct comprehensive safety inspections of facilities, transportation routes, and dining establishments. The Tourism Police Brigade is cracking down on disruptive business behaviors like "hawking at tourists on vehicles" and "harassing tourists," and the Market Supervision Bureau is strictly penalizing behaviours such as price gouging and fraud. A fast-response police platform has set up a "mediation room" and "service point" to resolve disputes on the spot. To address parking challenges, lots such as Jinyue Lake, Yuedong, Jinxiu Nanshan, and Nanyue Li South, along with government, institutional, and school parking areas, offer free parking for non-commercial vehicles with seven seats or fewer. Free bus rides are available on urban routes 1 and 2, while shuttle services connect outer parking areas to tourist sites. Residents are encouraged to opt for eco-friendly travel to minimize private vehicle use and ease road congestion. For enhanced service, volunteer stations are set up at major attractions and queuing areas, providing free tea, basic first aid, and guidance. Five new dedicated shuttle routes and five additional transport service points have been launched, covering all core scenic spots and critical areas. Shuttles operate on a "depart when full" basis for efficient mobility. |
