On the morning of June 12, Zhu Jian, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Hengyang, presided over the seventh “Business-Friendly and Business-Stabilizing” Roundtable Meeting for the Hengyang Smart Weighing and Metrology Industrial Park. He held in-depth discussions with Ao Wanzhong, Director of the National Center for Integrated Innovation in the Low-Altitude Economy, and his delegation. The meeting focused on exploring integration pathways between the low-altitude economy and the smart weighing and metrology industry, aiming to outline a new blueprint for industrial upgrading.

At the meeting, the National Center for Integrated Innovation in the Low-Altitude Economy shared insights on how to foster this strategic emerging sector through technological innovation and coordinated policy support. Experts, scholars, and relevant officials engaged in in-depth discussions on policy incentives, technological breakthroughs, and industrial implementation strategies, jointly exploring practical approaches to integrate Hengyang’s low-altitude economy with its existing industrial landscape.

Zhu Jian expressed his gratitude to the National Center for its strong support and interest in Hengyang’s emerging industries. He noted that Hengyang enjoys a solid industrial foundation and broad application scenarios for developing the low-altitude economy. The city is home to the Hunan Provincial Aeronautics Sports Management Center and Da Pu Airport—the only general aviation airport in the province dedicated to aerial sports. In addition, the city has planned four more general aviation airports and 405 helicopter landing sites.

Zhu highlighted the rapid rise of the Hengyang Smart Weighing and Metrology Industrial Park, which has undergone a remarkable transformation in just one year, becoming a vital component of Hunan’s 13th key industrial chain. The park is now accelerating the development of a national-level UAV Testing Center and a Super Factory for the low-altitude economy. He sincerely invited the National Center to contribute its expertise in planning Hengyang’s low-altitude economy during the upcoming “15th Five-Year Plan” period. Zhu emphasized the importance of seizing the national policy momentum to fast-track the development of the Low-Altitude Economy Industrial Park in Shigu District, cultivate distinctive industrial clusters with the help of intelligent shared factories, and build a new growth engine for the low-altitude sector.

In his remarks, Ao Wanzhong spoke highly of Hengyang’s advantages in developing the low-altitude economy. He pointed out that the low-altitude economy is a strategic emerging industry and a vital force for stabilizing growth and improving livelihoods as a new form of productivity and a carrier of technological innovation. With a solid industrial foundation and diverse application scenarios, Hengyang is well-positioned to scale up its low-altitude economic development. Ao expressed strong interest in deepening strategic cooperation with the city to explore integrated development models combining the low-altitude economy and the smart weighing and metrology industry, injecting fresh momentum into Hengyang’s high-quality economic and social development.
