On the afternoon of July 10, Zhu Jian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hengyang Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the Municipal Government, and Mayor, presided over a special meeting of the municipal government’s Leading Party Members’ Group to review and advance rectification work related to the centralized campaign for addressing identified issues.
The meeting underscored the importance of thoroughly studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourses on strengthening Party conduct, adhering to a problem-oriented and goal-oriented approach, comprehensively improving the quality and effectiveness of rectification, and resolutely preventing any relapse or resurgence of issues to ensure that corrective efforts achieve solid and lasting results.
The meeting conveyed and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, directives, and instructions, and earnestly followed the requirements set out by the central, provincial, and municipal Party committees. Participants listened to reports on the progress of the municipal government’s leadership team in rectifying problems, deliberated on next steps, and made arrangements to ensure timely and thorough resolution of outstanding issues.
The meeting emphasized the need to further elevate political standing and strengthen both ideological and practical consciousness regarding the rectification of prominent political problems. All departments must remain committed to solid action and address both the symptoms and root causes of issues, setting an example for the entire government system.
Responsibilities must be rigorously enforced, with a clear focus on problem orientation and targeted objectives. Greater efforts should be made to enhance the quality and effectiveness of rectification work, resolutely eliminate the possibility of problems re-emerging, and ensure that corrective achievements withstand scrutiny.
The meeting also set out clear requirements for carrying out in-depth “look-back” reviews of the learning and education campaign. This includes critically examining whether study and discussion have been sufficiently thorough, whether problem identification has been comprehensive, and whether rectification measures have been strict and effective. On this basis, self-examination and self-correction must be further reinforced to address any remaining gaps.
Participants were urged to concentrate efforts on advancing rectification and remediation, prioritize immediate action and prompt resolution of issues, and simultaneously establish sound long-term mechanisms. Timely communication of rectification outcomes is essential to ensure that the public genuinely feels the new progress and improvements brought about by the campaign.
Finally, the meeting called for comprehensive evaluation and summarization of the learning and education efforts, with a systematic review of successful practices and experiences. In particular, the achievements in resolving entrenched problems, overcoming development challenges, addressing pressing public concerns, and advancing key livelihood initiatives should be highlighted to provide valuable insights for future work.
