September 10 of this year marked the 41st Teachers' Day. In the afternoon of that day, Liu Yuegao, Secretary of the Municipal Committee, visited several schools in the urban area to extend festival greetings and sincere blessings to teachers and education workers across the city.

At the Second Kindergarten of the Municipal Government Office, Liu Yuegao presented flowers and festival greetings to teacher Chen Jie, inquired about her work and personal life, and commended her decade-long dedication to the front line of early childhood education. Liu Yuegao emphasized that preschool education constitutes a crucial starting point in life. He stated that efforts should be guided by the principles of public welfare and inclusiveness, with a focus on optimizing resource allocation and strengthening the teaching staff. He further stressed the importance of ensuring that every child has access to fair and high-quality preschool education, thereby providing parents with peace of mind and satisfaction. He encouraged teachers to nurture children’s healthy development with dedication and care, helping them fasten the "first button" of their lives.

During his visit to Hengyang Open University in Zhengxiang District, Liu Yuegao met with teacher Peng Zhenyu, who was still on duty following major surgery. Liu expressed concern for his health and praised his unwavering commitment to education. Liu Yuegao noted that open education serves as a vital pillar in building an education system that supports lifelong learning for all individuals. He emphasized the need to align with the demands of economic and social development by optimizing program offerings, innovating teaching models, and promoting the deep integration of academic education, vocational training, and community education. He called for the provision of more flexible and high-quality educational services to better serve the broader learner population. Additionally, he encouraged and guided more accomplished graduates to remain in Hengyang for employment and development, thereby providing strong intellectual support for the implementation of the city's development strategy of "building the city on manufacturing and invigorating it through culture and tourism."

At Hengyang No. 9 Middle School, Liu Yuegao visited teacher Zou Ya and inquired in detail about his classroom management and teaching practices, congratulating him on his outstanding achievements. Liu Yuegao pointed out that basic education is closely linked to national development and the future of the nation. He emphasized the need to fully implement the Party's education policy, deepen teaching reforms, strengthen teacher training, and effectively implement the "double reduction" policy to promote the all-round development and healthy growth of students. He expressed the hope that all teachers would bear in mind the mission of "cultivating people for the Party and talents for the country," remain committed to the original aspirations of education, enhance their professional capabilities, and nurture more well-rounded socialist builders and successors who excel in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor.
