On October 11, a delegation from the Loulan Song and Dance Troupe of Shanshan County, Xinjiang, visited the Hengyang Song and Dance Troupe Co., Ltd., launching a vibrant cultural and artistic exchange along the banks of the Xiang River. The event built a bridge of communication between artists from Hengyang and Shanshan, deepening friendship through art.

At the start of the event, members of the Loulan Song and Dance Troupe toured the Hengyang troupe’s art corridor, rehearsal halls, theater, and dressing rooms to learn about its development history and artistic achievements.

Performers from the Hengyang Song and Dance Troupe opened the exchange with a modern dance fundamentals showcase, impressing guests with their solid technical skills and expressive performance. This was followed by the captivating male contemporary group dance Chasing Dreams, which blended strength and grace to demonstrate the troupe’s creativity and innovation in modern dance.

The visiting Loulan Song and Dance Troupe then presented a feast of Xinjiang ethnic artistry. The lively group dance Dolān Meshrep instantly energized the audience, while the melodious solo Beautiful Xinjiang evoked the vast and majestic landscapes at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains. The finale, Welcome to Xinjiang, brought the exchange to a joyous climax, with performers from both troupes joining in spontaneous dance, filling the venue with warmth, unity, and artistic harmony.

After the performances, artists and creators from both sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on dance creation, technical expression, and musical application, sparking inspiring exchanges of artistic ideas.

During the National Day holiday, the Loulan Song and Dance Troupe also performed at Meihua Paradise in Hengyang County, Nanyue Lane in Nanyue District, and City of Time·1944, bringing splendid artistic shows to local residents and tourists, which were met with enthusiastic applause.

Zhan Xin, Deputy Director of the Shanshan County Bureau of Culture and Tourism (on secondment from Hengyang as part of the aid-to-Xinjiang program), noted that in recent years, the 10th Hengyang Aid-to-Xinjiang Task Force has actively promoted cultural and artistic exchanges and mutual promotion of tourism resources between Hengyang and Shanshan. This exchange not only introduced authentic Xinjiang culture to the people of Hengyang but also, by attracting visitors and boosting consumption, effectively showcased Shanshan’s cultural and tourism resources, allowing more citizens of Hengyang to gain a deeper understanding of Hengyang’s counterpart assistance region—Shanshan County in Turpan City, Xinjiang.
