On October 24, the 2025 Third Hengyang Tourism Development Conference – Special Cultural and Tourism Promotion Event was held in Changsha under the theme “Meet at Mount Hengshan, Explore Central China.” Dai Xinxian, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Hengyang Municipal Committee and Secretary of the CPC Hengshan County Committee, extended an open invitation to entrepreneurs and cultural tourism investors to visit Hengshan, seek cooperation, and pursue mutual development. He called for joint efforts to build Hengshan into a nationally renowned cultural and tourism destination, injecting fresh “Hengshan vitality” into the integrated cultural and tourism development of Central China.
Hengshan, home to the celebrated cultural image of “Longevity like Mount Hengshan,” boasts a rich tapestry of historical and natural treasures, from the ancient inscriptions of the Yu King Stele to the intangible cultural heritage of shadow puppetry, to the sea of clouds atop Mount Zigai and the picturesque ecology of Jiuguan Lake. Its identity as a “World Longevity Township” complements the region’s deep revolutionary cultural legacy, where Comrade Mao Zedong once conducted a historic ten-day investigation into the Peasant Movement.
In promoting integrated cultural and tourism development across Central China, Hengshan stands out with its natural advantages of “beautiful landscapes and a health-nurturing environment,” its strategic location adjacent to the Changsha–Zhuzhou–Xiangtan city cluster with nationwide connectivity, and its business-friendly environment marked by strong policies and attentive services. These factors form the solid foundation and inner strength driving Hengshan’s cultural and tourism growth.
Dai Xinxian expressed heartfelt expectations for all guests to visit Hengshan more often, for instance, to climb the peak of Mount Hengshan and witness the sunrise over the sea of clouds, to stroll along the Xiangjiang River and experience the charm of local folk customs, and to personally feel the city’s vitality and appeal. He encouraged investors to focus on Hengshan’s key cultural and tourism projects, identify areas of cooperation, and bring advanced concepts, quality capital, and professional teams to Hengshan. Together, he said, they can jointly develop cultural and tourism resources and share the dividends of development. “Whether for investment or exchange,” Dai noted, “Hengshan will always offer the most open posture, the best services, and a broad platform for entrepreneurs and investors to achieve success.”
During the exchange session, multiple guests shared their insights and expectations regarding potential cooperation with Hengshan, discussing development directions, partnership models, and innovative approaches. Participants agreed that Hengshan’s deep cultural heritage and distinctive natural landscapes make it an ideal location for flagship cultural tourism projects. They expressed hope to strengthen collaboration in brand building, project operation, and market promotion to jointly explore new pathways for high-quality cultural and tourism development. The two sides also engaged in in-depth discussions on supportive policies, infrastructure construction, and visitor market expansion, with lively and enthusiastic exchanges throughout the event.
