On the morning of October 28, Zhu Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, conducted a visit and offered condolences during the Chongyang Festival. He extended festive greetings and sincere blessings to several centenarians in the city.

At the residence of centenarian Liu Chuanshu, Mayor Zhu warmly presented flowers and engaged in a cordial conversation with the elderly man and his family, inquiring about their daily life, health status, and family circumstances. Zhu emphasized that centenarians represent a valuable asset to both families and society. He urged relevant departments to enhance care for the elderly by establishing and improving a regular home visit mechanism, ensuring the full implementation of people-centered policies, and enabling seniors to genuinely experience the warmth and concern of the Party and the government. He also encouraged family members to diligently attend to the elder’s daily needs and dietary habits, closely monitor changes in health, and ensure he could enjoy a peaceful and joyful old age surrounded by familial love.

During his visit to centenarian Yang Jixiang, Zhu exchanged conversations on daily life, expressed concern for her well-being, and learned in detail about her health and recent living conditions. He expressed great satisfaction at seeing her in good spirits and robust health. Zhu noted that longevity and good health benefit not only the individual but also bring blessings to their descendants and families. "Having an elder at home is like having a treasure," he remarked. He called on family members to continue upholding the virtuous tradition of respecting and caring for the elderly, providing patient and meticulous care to ensure they live happily, enjoy family harmony, and lead fulfilling and healthy lives in their later years.
