On November 5th, the 2025 Hengyang City Cheerleading Level-Two Social Sports Instructors, Coaches, and Referees Training Program was successfully launched. A total of 150 participants—including cheerleading enthusiasts, educators, and grassroots sports professionals—from all districts and counties across the city successfully completed the assessment. The program concluded on a high note with a specially designed, energetic cheerleading performance dedicated to "Hunan Football League" This training initiative was jointly organized by the Hengyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Film, and Sports and the Hengyang Municipal Education Bureau. It featured lectures by Professor Li Ping, Master’s Supervisor at Hunan Normal University and an internationally certified cheerleading referee. The curriculum adopted a dual-track approach combining "theoretical advancement" with "practical enhancement." It covered essential theoretical components such as interpretation of cheerleading competition rules, safety protocols in instruction, and referee scoring criteria, while also emphasizing practical training in routine design and teaching techniques for styles including pom and jazz. The program was specifically designed to systematically improve participants’ instructional capabilities and professional competence, equipping them with comprehensive skills ranging from fundamental movements to event organization—thereby establishing a robust talent pool to support grassroots promotion of cheerleading. The graduation ceremony featured a standout performance segment. A unified ensemble of 150 trainees presented a meticulously choreographed performance themed "Cheering for the Hunan Super League." Dynamic pom-waving synchronized with the energy of the football field, precise formation transitions highlighted team cohesion, and confident, enthusiastic expressions embodied the spirit of sport, effectively conveying the core values of cheerleading: vitality, teamwork, and spirited encouragement. This training program represents a concrete implementation of the "One School, One Brand" and "One Ball, One Cheerleading" initiatives. It has significantly expanded the popular foundation of cheerleading, enhanced the technical proficiency of local coaches, and laid a solid groundwork for the upcoming Third Youth Cheerleading Competition of Hengyang City. Upon completion, the trainees will return to their respective communities, schools, enterprises, and public institutions as promoters and practitioners of national fitness. They will facilitate the integration of mass physical activity with public health, inject new momentum into Hengyang’s sports development, and help sustain the passion for sports as a vibrant part of urban life. |
