The finals of the 6th Hunan Community Games were held at Hunan Sports Vocational College from November 6 to 7. The Hengyang Table Tennis Team won the runner-up title in the mixed team event.

Hosted by the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, the Games were organized by city and prefecture. The competitions included two competitive events (table tennis and tug-of-war), five recreational events, and two exhibition events. The table tennis competition featured only a mixed team event, following a best-of-five format (women’s singles, men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s singles, and mixed doubles), with each player participating once. Fourteen city and prefecture teams were randomly grouped, with Hengyang, Changsha, and Yueyang placed in the same group.

Led by Luo Shuisheng, Vice Chairman of the Hunan Table Tennis Association and Secretary of the Party Branch of the Hengyang Table Tennis Association, the Hengyang team consisted of players Feng Fan, Zhang Qiang, Ma Junyi, Wen Hao, Wang Haixin, Chen Zhifan, Kuang Binwen, and Liu Qian. In the group stage, Hengyang defeated Changsha and Yueyang 4:1 and 5:0 respectively to top the group. In the knockout rounds, Hengyang beat Changde 3:0 and Xiangtan 3:1 to advance to the finals, where they met Changsha again.

Both teams were evenly matched. Employing a tactical lineup, Changsha narrowly defeated Hengyang in the fifth and final mixed doubles match, leaving Hengyang as the runner-up.
