On November 13, Liu Yuegao, Secretary of the CPC Hengyang Municipal Committee, conducted a field inspection of the city’s nonferrous metals industry chain and presided over a symposium. He called for fully implementing the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the provincial industrial chain coordination meeting, and promoting the high-quality development of the nonferrous metals sector to build a modern industrial system with Hengyang characteristics.

In the morning, Liu visited enterprises in Changning. At Hunan Huaihui Jubang Advanced Materials Technology Co., Ltd., he urged relevant departments to ensure timely completion and commissioning of the “Hunan Merchants Returning Home” project. At Gudao New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., he encouraged the company to stay market-oriented, strengthen technological innovation, and produce high–value-added products aligned with downstream demand. At Jiayuan Longyuan Technology Co., Ltd., whose products are now used in AI computing chips, he called on the company to deepen its niche specialization and enhance the competitiveness of “Hengyang Manufacturing.”

At the afternoon symposium, Liu noted that while the nonferrous metals industry chain has long ranked first among the city’s 15 key sector chains, challenges remain, including limited deep processing, low added value, and modest profits.

Liu emphasized the need to optimize industrial layout, strengthen integration with sectors such as power transmission equipment and new energy vehicles, and form a spatial pattern of “core areas + supporting areas + radiation areas.” He called for breakthroughs through innovation-driven development, promotion of high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing, and accelerated digital transformation. He also stressed improving the business environment through targeted policy support, streamlined problem-solving mechanisms, and stronger guarantees in land, energy, and talent to ensure enterprises can invest and operate with confidence.
