On the morning of November 13, the 49th meeting of the Presidium of the 13th CPPCC Hengyang Municipal Committee was convened. Wu Shuguang, Chair of the Municipal CPPCC, presided over the meeting and delivered remarks.

The meeting reviewed the draft preparatory plan for the Fifth Session of the 13th CPPCC Hengyang Municipal Committee, matters related to the session, the draft work plan for the fifth session of the Chuanshan Consultation Hall in 2025, and the draft plan for the distribution of CPPCC newspapers and periodicals for 2026. It also conveyed the spirit of the provincial meeting on CPPCC brand building and reviewed the draft plan for the 2025 joint inspection activities for provincial and municipal CPPCC members in Hengyang, as well as the draft research report on strengthening the vegetable industry and improving the “vegetable basket” supply system prepared by the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Wu Shuguang emphasized that the annual session of the CPPCC is a major political event for the city, and all preparatory work must be carried out with a high sense of responsibility. He called for meticulous efforts in key areas such as report drafting, speeches, and logistical support, ensuring a rigorous, efficient, and well-organized meeting that fosters unity and positive momentum. He also underscored the need to enhance the Chuanshan Consultation Hall as a signature consultative platform of the Municipal CPPCC.

Wu called for earnest implementation of the provincial requirements on CPPCC brand building and for the creation of a distinctive brand matrix with strong Hengyang characteristics. He urged that the joint inspection activities guide members to conduct field visits with clear problem awareness and strict discipline, producing high-quality reports aligned with the “Strengthen the City through Manufacturing, Revitalize it through Culture and Tourism” strategy. He stressed that the distribution of CPPCC publications is both a political responsibility and a fine tradition, requiring accurate delivery to expand the CPPCC’s public influence. He also asked the special committees to refine preparations for thematic consultations to ensure well-grounded proposals and effective成果转化, contributing to the high-quality development of Hengyang’s vegetable industry.
