On the morning of September 13, Liu Zhongjie, deputy secretary of the CPC Hengyang Municipal Committee and mayor of Hengyang, visited Hengyang East Railway Station to survey traffic organization improvements and chaired a symposium. He stressed the need to complete all final tasks before the trial opening on September 15, further optimize traffic management in the station area, and build Hengyang East into a safe, smooth, convenient and orderly model window for urban transport.

During the survey, Liu visited the front square, underground passageways and parking areas to inspect the progress of traffic improvement projects. He learned in detail about passenger entry and exit routes, vehicle access and transfers, and supporting facilities.

At the symposium, after hearing relevant reports, Liu recognized the achievements made in the previous stage. He said close coordination among functional departments and Zhuhui District had helped advance the work efficiently. The main structures of five key projects have all been completed, and overall traffic order is safe and controllable. He described the work as a practical example of achieving strong results with limited investment and delivering a concrete livelihood project.

Liu called for all-out efforts to complete finishing work before the trial opening. Traffic signs and road markings should be improved, vehicle routes and stopping areas should be clearly defined, and the overall station image should be upgraded through better lighting, beautification and updated publicity signs. Intelligent facilities, including electronic monitoring equipment, should be installed and tested to provide safer and more comfortable travel services.

Liu also urged continued management optimization after the trial opening. The station area should follow the principle of separating pedestrians and vehicles, with each moving along designated routes. Local authorities and relevant departments should work together to facilitate passenger travel while also meeting the needs of nearby residents. Publicity should be strengthened, and flexible law enforcement should be adopted in the initial stage, with education and guidance helping residents and passengers adapt to the new traffic arrangements. Regular reviews should be conducted to improve control measures and promote standardized, long-term management.
