Recently, at the launch ceremony of the "Quality Month" activity in Hunan Province in 2026, the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau announced the first batch of pilot names for quality infrastructure innovation centers and awarded plaques to the selected units. The "Hunan Province Transmission and Transformation Equipment Industry Quality Infrastructure Innovation Center", as one of the representative units, took the stage to accept the award, marking a crucial step for Hengyang in promoting the upgrading of quality infrastructure services from "One-Stop" to "Integration".

It is reported that the center is led by the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau and applied for by the Municipal Metrology and Testing Center as a pilot unit. It has been selected as one of the first provincial-level pilot projects, which is another important breakthrough in serving local industrial development in Hengyang after leading the construction of the province's first ultra-high voltage transmission and transformation equipment industry metrology and testing center and jointly building the "Intelligent Metrology and Testing Hunan Provincial Engineering Research Center".

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau introduced that the Municipal Metrology and Testing Center will closely follow the strategic deployment of "quality strong province", focus on the development needs of the national advanced manufacturing cluster of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan ultra-high voltage transmission and transformation equipment. The center will coordinate metrology, standards, inspection and testing, certification and accreditation resources, and focus on six major tasks including building an integrated collaborative service system, filling the gaps in metrology and testing capabilities, improving standard supply, strengthening testing and certification support, carrying out technical assistance, and promoting the transformation of industry, academia, research and application. The center will systematically promote technological breakthroughs, public services, and talent cultivation, and build an integrated development system of "metrology leading, standard guidance, inspection and testing support, and certification and accreditation guarantee".

In recent years, the Municipal Metrology and Testing Center has continued to deepen its industrial services, continuously building the Provincial Ultra High Voltage Transmission and Transformation Equipment Industry Metrology and Testing Center and the Intelligent Metrology Testing Digital Integration Platform, focusing on the full life cycle needs of the industry, and striving to solve common technical problems such as "inability to measure, incomplete measurement, and inaccurate measurement" in the industry. Since 2026, the center has built 20 measurement standards including "voltage transformer calibration devices" in batches, all of which have passed the assessment of the provincial market supervision bureau at once, providing solid technical support for industrial development. In terms of collaborative innovation, the center has deeply participated in the construction demonstration of the School of Intelligent Metrology at Nanhua University, collaborated with Hunan Institute of Technology to carry out professional internships and campus local exchanges, and plans to sign strategic cooperation agreements with research institutions such as China Institute of Metrology and China University of Metrology to continuously strengthen the scientific research foundation and enhance the momentum of serving economic and social development.

At the next step, the Municipal Metrology and Testing Center will closely connect with the development of Hunan Province's power transmission and transformation industry and Hengyang Intelligent Weighing Instrument Metrology Industry Park, fully unleash the efficiency of metrology empowerment, and strive to create a source of quality and technological innovation in the power transmission and transformation equipment industry, an integrated service hub for industrial chain quality infrastructure, an industrial quality talent cultivation base, and an innovation pilot demonstration window, injecting "metrology momentum" into promoting the high-quality development of Hunan's advanced manufacturing industry and the regional centralization process in Hengyang.
