Hengyang launched its 2026 Green Travel Campaign and Public Transport Week at Hongyang Plaza on September 24, encouraging residents to embrace greener and more sustainable ways of getting around the city.
Under the theme “Green Travel for a Better Life,” Hengyang Public Transport Group brought information desks, themed displays, quizzes and interactive activities directly to residents, creating an engaging “green classroom” to promote environmentally friendly travel and introduce preferential public transport policies.
At the information desk, staff demonstrated how to download and use the mobile public transport app, which allows passengers to check real-time bus locations and estimated arrival times. They also explained preferential policies, including free travel for eligible groups, a 10-percent discount for IC card users, and QR-code payment services.
The themed exhibition area provided easy-to-understand information on the use of the mobile app, the benefits of green travel, the development of Hengyang’s public transport system, and safe and courteous travel practices.
Interactive quizzes on green travel, public transport policies, traffic safety and app use attracted enthusiastic participation. Residents who answered correctly received small gifts. A photo check-in area also encouraged participants to share their green travel experience on social media and short-video platforms, helping spread the concept to a wider audience.
A representative of Hengyang Public Transport Group said the company will use the Green Travel Campaign as an opportunity to further publicize preferential policies, continuously improve public transport services, and encourage more residents to choose green and civilized modes of travel.
These efforts are expected to contribute to building a more livable, business-friendly and environmentally sustainable Hengyang.
