Liu Zhongjie Joins Discussions with Hengyang County and Zhuhui District Delegations

On the afternoon of September 27, Liu Zhongjie joined discussions with the Hengyang County and Zhuhui District delegations attending the 13th CPC Hengyang Municipal Congress. Participants discussed the report to the congress and the work report of the CPC Hengyang Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Liu called for aligning thinking and action with the decisions and arrangements made at the congress, maintaining confidence and strategic focus, and pooling strength to accelerate Hengyang’s development into a national key regional city of higher level and greater capacity and a sub-provincial regional center city.

During the discussions, delegates shared views based on their respective fields of work. Liu said the congress report reviewed Hengyang’s achievements and experience over the past five years and set out the city’s development goals, positioning, priorities and key tasks for the next five years. He encouraged delegates to fully understand the report and translate its arrangements into tangible development results.

For Hengyang County, Liu called for giving full play to its role as a major county economy and making high-quality economic development the top priority. The county should play a leading role in building a modern industrial system, coordinate county-level economic development with comprehensive rural revitalization, increase residents’ incomes and consumption capacity, and promote coordinated development between leading and specialized industrial parks. Efforts should also be made to safeguard security and stability and ensure a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

For Zhuhui District, Liu stressed high-quality economic development, project construction and investment attraction. The district should capitalize on its advantages as a high-speed railway gateway, tap consumption potential through events including the Xiangchao League, and steadily advance livelihood projects such as the renovation of older residential communities.

He also called for better coordination of resources from urban areas, universities, industrial parks and enterprises, stronger development of industries including nuclear technology applications, and faster local commercialization of university research achievements.

Municipal leaders Wang Dongwen, Wu Lesheng and Tao Chaohui attended relevant discussions.
