Liu Zhongjie Calls for Practical Measures and Better Services to Boost High-Quality Development of Nuclear Technology Applications Industry

On the afternoon of October 25, Liu Zhongjie, deputy secretary of the CPC Hengyang Municipal Committee and mayor of Hengyang, visited Baisha Green Island High-Tech Zone to inspect infrastructure construction and business operations. He also chaired a meeting, stressing the need to focus on practical results, strengthen service support, and make every effort to promote the high-quality development of the nuclear technology applications industry.

Liu first visited the Green Island Avenue project site to inspect road construction. He learned about the design standards, underground utility corridors, construction costs per unit and progress, and heard briefings on plans for industrial land along the road and the expected opening date. He said road construction in the zone should prioritize practical service functions and strike a balance between utility and cost-effectiveness. Construction should be accelerated while ensuring quality and safety so that the road can open to traffic as scheduled.

At the nuclear technology applications company, Liu examined the industrial and master plans in detail and learned about available land parcels, road connections and the planned layout and construction of the wastewater treatment plant. He also asked about difficulties encountered in business operations by the nuclear technology applications company and Baisha Green Island Company, and discussed with relevant parties ways to improve approval procedures and services.

At the meeting, Liu heard reports on relevant work and spoke highly of the progress made by Baisha Green Island High-Tech Zone. He called for faster improvements to supporting infrastructure and full completion of Green Island Avenue, emphasizing that quality must take precedence over deadlines and that construction should be economical and practical. Infrastructure must ultimately serve business development and industrial cultivation.

He also called for a thorough assessment of the proposed wastewater treatment plant’s location and capacity, with project construction to be advanced promptly. The two companies should move toward centralized office arrangements, while relevant parties should improve approval and service-support mechanisms to raise the zone’s administrative service standards. Continued efforts are also needed to attract investment, develop and implement investment projects, and enhance the industrial profile of the zone, ensuring that key tasks deliver tangible results.

Vice Mayor Wang Jing and Zou Kun, a member of the CPC Hengyang Municipal Government Leadership Group, joined the inspection.
