The News Media Tour to Hengyang was launched on the evening of September 11. Hengyang is a famous city with a history of more than three thousand years.

During the event, more than 130 journalists from central, provincial, and municipal news media such as People’s Daily Hunan Branch, Xinhua News Agency Hunan Branch, Hunan Today, and Hunan Satellite TV conducted in-depth interviews in Hengyang. They visited such tourist attractions as Mount Heng, Xia Minghan’s former residence, Xiangxi Thatched Cottage, Jianxiang Cultural Block, Baoweili Cultural Creative Block, and Guhan Chinese Medicine Wellness Tourism Base to promote local cultural and tourism resources.

In recent years, Hengyang tourism has become popular. Citizens, dressed in traditional costumes, perform square dances at night and have a good time together   with tourists.

Zhou Yumei, director of the Publicity Department of the Hengyang Municipal Party Committee, said that Hengyang is doing its best to prepare for the 3rd Hunan Tourism Development Conference. Since the beginning of this year, 18 key observation projects have been set up, with a total investment of 5.063 billion yuan, including the social investment of 4.667 billion yuan. In the first half of this year, Hengyang received 36.1762 million tourists, with the tourism revenue of 36.425 billion yuan, up 8% and 10.87% year on year respectively.
