The 3rd Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Expo will be held in Jianxiang Industrial and Cultural Block of Hengyang City from September 21 to 23.

It is one of the supporting activities of the 3rd Hunan Tourism Development Conference.

This expo consists of the opening ceremony, one livestreaming session, six exhibition areas, the travel photography costume show and the ICH show, allowing tourists to fully appreciate the charm of Hunan’s ICH.

The six major exhibition areas include the preface hall, ICH digital experience exhibition area, ICH workshop experience area, ICH entrepreneurship and innovation space, etc. Immersive ICH scenes and life culture spaces will be built by deeply integrated the exhibition areas and the blocks as well as the exhibition and performances, showcasing the systematic protection achievements of ICH in the province in recent years.

Hunan has a total of 6,407 representative projects of intangible cultural heritage which fall into ten major categories, including nine inscribed on the UNESCO’s representative list of ICH of humanity, 137 national-level representative projects of ICH, and 664 provincial-level ones, with 7,730 representative inheritors.

With a new stage, new scenes, and new experiences, the expo aims to promote the integrated development of ICH and tourism in Hunan in a wider, deeper, and higher level. At present, the expo has become an important brand for showcasing the charm of Hunan’s ICH and inheriting ICH culture.
