At the China Five Famous Mountains Inter-provincial Tourism Cooperation Theme Activity held in Nanyue District of Hengyang City, the cultural and tourism departments of Shandong, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, and Hunan provinces jointly signed the China Five Famous Mountains Inter-provincial Tourism Cooperation Agreement as well as the Tourism Market Marketing and Promotion Strategic Cooperation Agreement and released the China Five Famous Mountains Inter-provincial Tourism Cooperation Declaration on September 21.

Five provinces will jointly create a Chinese Five Famous Mountains inter-provincial tourism brand with brand sharing, channel interconnection, resource complementarity, marketing promotion, and industry win-win, and build a cross-regional mountain cultural and tourism integration ecosystem and brand development community to create a new system for the coordinated development of five famous mountains and a world-class cultural and tourism destination for the Chinese Five Famous Mountains.

Mount Tai, Mount Hua, Mount Heng, Mount Heng and Mount Song have unique natural landscape and profound culture, and are an important embodiment of beautiful China and an important carrier of Chinese culture. They have been an inseparable cultural organism since ancient times.

Since 2023, they have jointly launched the “100-day activity to invite tourists to climb the five famous mountains”, attracting countless young people to challenge themselves, which opened up beneficial explorations in regional cooperation. Meanwhile, the International Mountain Tourism Alliance also awarded the “International Mountain Tourism Hiking Route” to the Five Famous Mountains. In addition, the Five Famous Mountains Cultural and Creative Products Market and the Five Famous Mountains Photo Exhibition were also being held in Nanyue.
