“I learned about the longevity culture of Nanyue and fire culture of Zhurong while praying for blessings and enjoying scenery,” said a tourist from Guangdong Province, who had a relaxed and pleasant journey at Nanyue with the help of an AI WeChat mini-program.

Hengyang City has launched an AI WeChat mini-program, which can provide functions and services such as scenic spot ticket purchasing, tour route recommendation, smart scenic spot maps, and parking guidance for tourists with AI technology.

“The platform integrates such resources as scenic spots, cultural venues, hotels and homestays, restaurants, and cultural and creative products in Hengyang City,” said Wu Ping who is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the platform.

There is a strict review of the companies that apply to settle on the platform. Companies with negative tourism-related records will be denied entry. At present, more than 200 tourism-related scenic spots and enterprises have registered on the platform, including Xia Minghan’s Former Residence, Goulou Peak National Forest Park, Hangseng Clock and Watch Museum, and Vienna Hotel.

Wu Ping opened the mini-program and introduced the platform’s functions and activities, “We issued a large number of culture and tourism consumption coupons worth millions of yuan through the platform this summer, which is also a warm-up activity for the third Hunan Tourism Development Conference. In the past, we distributed paper coupons to tourists, which was inconvenient to retain and redeem. However, we choose to issue coupons online this time, allowing more tourists to enjoy the benefits.”

He said that the AI mini-program can not only provide intelligent services for tourists, but also convey the hospitality of Hengyang people, which has received high praise from tourists.
