On January 28, the reporter learned from Hengyangdong Railway Station that the 2024 Spring Festival travel rush on the railway would start from January 26 to March 5, 15 days before the Festival and 25 days after the Festival, with a total of 40 days. Hengyangdong Railway Station is expected to send 942,000 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 23.6%  compared with that in 2023.

According to the Spring Festival travel rush situation in previous years and the passenger flow survey of the Spring Festival in 2024, Hengyangdong Railway Station predicts that in the Spring Festival travel rush in 2024, the passenger flow peak of the Station will be mainly the arrival before the Festival and departure after the Festival.

It is expected to send 259,000 passengers (an average of 17,000 passengers per day) before the Festival, and the passenger flow peak is expected to be from February 6 to 9 (from the 27th to 30th day of the twelfth lunar month). After the Festival, it is expected to send 683,000 passengers (an average of 27,000 passengers per day), and the passenger flow peak is expected to be from February 15 to 18 (the 6th to the 9th day of the first lunar month) and February 25-28 (from the 16th to the 19th of the first lunar month).

The pre-festival passenger flow is mainly to visit relatives and tourists, of which the passenger flow in the Province is mainly from/to Changsha, Yongzhou, Zhuzhou and other directions, and the passenger flow outside the Province is to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai and other cities. After the Festival, with the combination of the migrant workers’ trips, student trips, business trips and family visiting trips, it will see an overall high transportation and relatively stable trend before the Festival.  The passenger flow in the Province is mainly from/to Changsha, Shaoyang, Yongzhou, Huaihua and other directions, and the passenger flow outside the Province is to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and other places.

In order to allow passengers to travel safely and smoothly, Hengyangdong Railway Station will open additional real-name verification and security check channels during peak hours to ensure that passengers can enter the Station quickly. At the same time, the Party member service team and young volunteers will be organized to carry out assistance services for key passengers who are old, young, sick, disabled and pregnant, so as to ensure that passengers travel safely, orderly and warmly during the Spring Festival.
