On October 10th, ahead of the Chongyang Festival, the 2024 Chongyang Festival Martyrs' Parents Gathering was held in our city. Forty families of martyrs came together to mark the occasion, and three mothers of martyrs celebrated their birthdays together.

The event, themed "Honoring the Achievements of Heroes, Respecting the Parents of Martyrs, and Promoting Traditional Chinese Virtues," was organized by the Daxiang Charity Service Center Party Branch and the City Welfare Lottery Distribution Center, under the guidance of the Municipal Bureau of Veterans Affairs and the Municipal Comprehensive Party Committee for Social Organizations. It was supported by Hengyang Boman Hotel Management Co., Ltd., Yumushan Villa, Leiyang Weiyang Charity Association, Shigu Xiangyang Social Work Service Center, Tianxia Shouyue Huangjing, and the Shenzhen Longyue Charity Foundation.

On the morning of the event, volunteers presented the parents of martyrs with sashes, flowers, and care packages, offering companionship, warmth, and heartfelt respect. A collective birthday celebration was held for three mothers of martyrs, with everyone singing birthday songs and presenting them with flowers, cake, and monetary gifts.

The head of Daxiang Charity Service Center stated, "The martyrs served the country loyally, and we, in their place, will show filial respect to their parents." Since launching the initiative to honor martyrs' parents in 2019, the center has organized regular activities, such as birthday celebrations, themed gatherings, and holiday visits. These efforts have enriched the lives of martyrs' parents, addressing their emotional needs and ensuring they receive care during holidays, help in times of difficulty, and support in fulfilling their wishes.
