Dayuan Navigation and Power Complex is a key national project of The Ninth Five Years Plan, and a totality of more than 2 billion yuan has been invested in the project. The dam there began to generate power in 2000. The dam is 680 meters long with a 556 meter long waterlock and a 8 meter wide bridge road on the dam. The deliberate and magnificent modern project has added a delighted view on the Xiangjiang River. On the east side of the waterlock is an island in the river which is a broad and open patch of land, about 100 meter wide and 2000 meter long. And the land near to the waterlock has been developed into a garden in the river. The upper part of the water here are broad and steady, which is a good choice for the water sport, and a good place for fishing.
