Dali Lake Campground

Dali Lake Campground is located at Zhuma Pond, Jibing Town, Hengyang County. Nestled against the mountains and built along the lakeshore, the site features lush green lawns and expansive open views. It is divided into a camping zone and a leisure and recreation zone (including a dining bar, a stage area, and lake activity areas). With a camping culture that embodies natural aesthetics and a strong sense of everyday ritual, it has become an ideal destination for leisure vacations and gatherings with friends, attracting large numbers of visitors to experience and check in—earning it the status of an internet-famous "must-visit spot."

Stepping into Dali Lake Campground, our reporter observed a steady stream of visitors. On a stretch of green lawn, a tent, a few close friends, and a table of delicious food—everyone sat together among the trees, embracing a stylish, modern form of camping to experience a "poetry and distant horizons" right at their doorstep.

But did you know? The picturesque camping scene—with faintly visible green hills, gently flowing blue waters, starry skies overhead, dark mountain silhouettes in the distance, and the croaking of frogs in the ears—was a completely different sight just one year ago.

"In the past, this was nothing but a piece of vacant wasteland. When I learned that the Provincial Tourism Development Conference would be held in Hengyang, I thought: Hengyang already has great food and tourist attractions, but what it lacks is a proper camping destination. So starting last year, I began planning and searching for a scenic spot with both mountains and water, hoping to create a unique campground of its own for the people of Hengyang." Xie Xiaowu told the reporter. "Motivation without action is just daydreaming—the Tourism Development Conference was the driving force that made me commit fully and act fast. I also wanted to ride this tailwind to show more visitors the campground culture of Hengyang."

With its distinctive style and charm, it quickly went viral on short-video platforms, drawing a constant flow of visitors. To let campers experience the wild fun of outdoor camping and the joy of water activities, the campground hosts themed events every Friday through Sunday evening, including music festivals and bonfire parties, and has added new recreational activities such as helicopter rides, jet skiing, and hot air balloon rides, enriching the overall visitor experience.

Watching his guests thoroughly enjoy themselves, Xie Xiaowu was equally thrilled. "Hengyang is home to the nationally renowned Mount Hengshan, but there are also many other uniquely scenic spots worth exploring and checking out. Especially with the Tourism Development Conference just around the corner—tourist facilities are being upgraded one after another, services are improving across the board, scenic spots are becoming more beautiful, and more and more influencers are coming to promote Hengyang's tourism… I firmly believe that Hengyang's tourism industry is about to welcome its spring!" said Xie Xiaowu, manager of Dali Lake Campground. "I want to seize the opportunity of hosting the Tourism Development Conference in Hengyang to let more people know about this campground, feel the joy of camping, and get close to Hengyang's unique natural beauty. Moving forward, we will continue to improve our service facilities and enhance our service standards to welcome even more visitors, ensuring that every camping enthusiast enjoys a delightful and relaxing time here."
