2024 marked the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and a pivotal year for achieving the goals and tasks set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan. Amid a complex landscape of mounting external pressures and growing domestic difficulties, the CPC Hengyang Municipal Committee and the Hengyang Municipal People's Government, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee. We faithfully carried out the decisions and arrangements of the central leadership as well as the work requirements of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. Anchoring the inspiring vision of the "Three Highs and Four News," we vigorously advanced the development strategies of "building the city through manufacturing and revitalizing it via culture and tourism," and accelerated the process of regional centralization. The city's economy maintained steady and sound growth with improved quality amid progress, demonstrating its responsibility as a sub-provincial central city. Solid strides were made in building a new Hengyang for Chinese-style modernization.
