The Hunan Expressway Hengyang Logistics Hub project was launched on February 8, 2022. It is China's first expressway logistics hub which combines expressway service areas and logistics parks. It will help optimize the modern logistics system, improve logistics chains, expand industrial chains, stabilize supply chains, and provide logistics support to Hengyang's high-quality economic and social development. 

The hub is located in Huangshawan Neighborhood, Shigu District, Hengyang. It stands by Hengyang-Shaoyang Expressway in the north, and the North 3rd Ring Road in the south; and stretches to Zhengxiang North Road in the east, and Cailun Avenue and Shigu District Expressway Toll Station in the west. The total area is about 401 mu (26.73 ha.), with a total investment of 880 million yuan. The construction will complete within three years.

Based on Hunan's expressway network, the project integrates expressway service areas and logistics parks to develop three major functional zones – expressway logistics service zone, smart urban logistics zone, and supporting service zone. It will build a comprehensive logistics park with expressway service area, intercity logistics service, express delivery concentrated transportation and distribution, and supply chain and information service. It will become a core hub of Hunan’s expressway logistics park network.

This project is expected to become a carrier of the modern logistics service system in south Hunan, and an exploration platform for the integration of expressway service areas and logistics parks, according to Zhang Longxing, president of the Hunan Expressway Construction and Development Co., Ltd.

Recently the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology released 40 key projects in electronic information manufacturing industry in 2022. It aimed to build a national electronic information industrial cluster. Upon operation, the projects will generate an extra income of more than 100 billion yuan. 

The 40 projects have a total investment of 135.2 billion yuan, with a planned investment of 27 billion yuan in 2022. There are 4 projects each with an investment of 10 billion yuan, five projects each with an investment of 5 to 10 billion yuan, and 12 projects each with an investment of 1 to 5 billion yuan. The projects cover such fields as integrated circuit, power semiconductor, intelligent terminal, basic components, and electronic material.

The projects highlight the driving role of leading ones in upstream-downstream synergy. San'an Semiconductor Project and Huashi Semiconductor Project will facilitate the establishment of a third generation semiconductor industrial chain involving from upstream of wafer material and associated equipment to downstream of chip and devices. Changsha Intelligent Valley Project and Sinnet Project will achieve interconnected development to further promote Hunan’s infrastructure level in computing and facilitate the building of a world-class algorithm innovation center.

The projects focus on shoring up weaknesses and improving structure to promote high-end development. Hunan Shaohong Special Glass Project and Zhuzhou Torch Antai ITO Target Project highlight key basic materials to ensure the safety of the industrial chain and supply chain. Lens Technology Intelligent Terminal Equipment Project, Tenda Global Intelligent Manufacturing Base, and Kingcome Group Intelligent Terminal Industrial Park will make up for the shortcomings of the province’s electronic complete machine products and boost Hunan’s electronic information industry to a higher level.

Hunan Province will increase support for provincial key projects and enterprises in electronic information manufacturing industry to apply for special funds, to provide guarantee for land use, energy supply, employment, financing, and personnel.

Recently the General Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government has released an implementation plan for vigorously promoting industrial development. It is a practical measure to adhere to strategic positioning and fulfill tasks and missions of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy. By 2025, six trillion-yuan industries and eight 100-billion-yuan enterprises will be fostered, and about 80 10-billion-yuan projects will be launched. This will continue to enhance the overall strength and core competitiveness of industrial development.

The 12th CPC Hunan Provincial Congress called for efforts to develop a group of world-class industrial clusters and a number of leading and globally competitive enterprises. Currently Hunan has three trillion-yuan industries and 14 100-billion-yuan sectors. There are four 100-billion-yuan enterprises and 38 10-billion-yuan companies in the field of manufacturing industry. 

The development potential of trillion-yuan industries and 100-billion-yuan enterprises is mainly contributed by the fields of farming, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery; industry and information technology; construction; and services. During the 14th Five-year Plan period, four trillion-yuan industries and five 100-billion-yuan enterprises will be developed in manufacturing industry; 55 10-billion-yuan projects will be launched in the sector. One trillion-yuan industry will be fostered in construction industry and 20 10-billion-yuan projects will be implemented in service sector.

A gradient cultivation mode will be adopted to develop industries, enterprises, and projects, and improve environment at provincial, city and county level. Focusing on leading industries, competitive industries, and industries of the future, Hunan Province will foster a group of trillion-yuan industries, 100-billion-yuan enterprises, and 10-billion-yuan projects at provincial level; a group of 100-billion-yuan industries, 10-billion-yuan enterprises, and 1-billion-yuan projects at city level; a group of 10-billion-yuan industries, 1-billion-yuan enterprises, and 100-millon-yuan projects at county level.
